Police commence enforcement of 3rd Party insurance in Enugu
The Enugu state police command says it has commenced the enforcement of the Mandatory third party insurance which starts today Saturday the first of February, as directed by the inspector general of police Kayode Egbetokun .
The command in a statement by his spokesperson Daniel Ndukwe, said the enforcement which commences on Saturday will see officers and men of the command in a stop and search exercise across the state.
According to the police Spokesperson, the Enugu state police commissioner CP Kanayo Uzuegbu has directed all traffic unit and tactical officers to ensure defaulters are brought to book. He described the exercise as to cleanse the system of false owners of vehicles across the state, as he commend the inspector general of police for providing Nigerian,s with enough information regarding the mandatory third party insurance.
Meanwhile, most car owners in Enugu capital have decided to take public transportation until their insurance paperwork is rectified.
